Elizabeth Arnold was born in Leicester, but now lives in The New Forest.
She has two children. Four grandchildren and a house full of pets, so life is always busy.
Elizabeth's first book, The Parsley Parcel, was published in 1995. Before that she worked as a Science Technician in several schools and as a Quality Control Manager in the food industry, so writing children's stories came as a completely new challenge.
The Parsley Parcel was shortlisted for the Whitbread Children's Award in 1995. There was a Chivers Children's Audio Book read by Nerys Hughes, and it became part of a television series known as Gypsy Girl shown on CITV in February 2001.
The second book in the Gypsy Girl Trilogy was Gold and Silver Water. This was commended for the TES/NASEN Special Educational Needs Award.
The third book was in the series was called A Riot of red Ribbon. Spin of The Sunwheel was published in 1999 and is based on English Celtic legend.
There are three books for younger readers. Scraggy Flies High, Thief in the Garden and The Triple Trouble Gang.
Elizabeth's
eighth Book, The Gold-Spectre, is due to be published by A & C Black
in October 2003. She is now planning her ninth book.
